I remember the original Bewitched main titles. The Chevy bowtie logo would morph into a moon from which the animated Samantha would fly from behind. I only remember two versions of the theme song- the slow boring one of the first two seasons and the more upbeat hip version for the rest of the run. Bonanza always opened with someone burning a whole into a Virginia map with a branding iron shaped into the Chevy bowtie logo. General Foods logo morphed into the animated spaceship of My Favorite Martian.
One of the quickest way to pinpoint a particular vintage an episode is by checking out the star's cars. They were always new for the season. Inspector Erskine is climbing into his new 1969 Ford Mustang; Darrin Stephens pulls up in his 1965 Impala convertible; Wilbur Post hitches Mr. Ed to his 1961 Studebaker Lark Wagonaire station wagon. Ed's on a trailor of course for all you animal rights activists who just gasped at the last example.
