I live on land and sail frequently, spending quite a bit of time in the San Juans. I've insulated my boat. An absolute must in my opinion. My orginal boat I built of wood and it was dry and comfortable with never a spot of mildew. When I got my present boat (a 1970 Alberg 37) I nearly sold it because of this issue. Instead I gritted my teeth, donned a mask, and installed insullation in every place I could get too. Amazing difference. I do not know how folks can stand to live or even spend much time in an uninsulated plastic boat. All things considered, I wish my present boat had been built like a Cape George Cutter or Cherubini with a fully insulated FRP hull and wood topsides.
