Dear Alvin,

WOW! I am impressed! You are certainly a very intelligent person! You have so many talents! I only play a couple of instruments and sing. Well, the voice is, actually, an instrument. I sing opera, jazz, and show tunes. I play the non-pedal harp and piano. I began my musical path when I had to give up dancing. I started to dance at the age of 2-and-a-half. When I was sixteen, I had Rheumatic Fever. That put a stop to dancing for a few years. My mother's friend gave me a small two or three-octave organ. At the time, my hand was like a claw. But I was determined. I played that organ with a lot of horrible pain. But it was because of that, that my hand came back to normal. After a few years, I started dancing again. But an accident at work required surgery. Unfortunately, the surgeons butchered my knee. I was disabled for over two years. So chances for a professsional dance career went away. Your musical abilites are astounding! I would love to hear you play. Do you compose? I am primarily a composer. I have always found improvisation easier. Composing comes naturally to me. Do you also paint, dance, and act as well as being a musician? I paint for relaxation. Some things I paint turn out all right. I also act. I have been in some movies. I had a principal part in Coppola's " Dracula. But my scenes were cut to only about ten seconds. My friends recognize me, but I have to really look to see me. But that is okay with me. That's just the way it is. Lots of film footage has to be cut to make a film flow.

I am so overwhelmed about your healing path! I am now a true believer in acupuncture. I have always used herbs. I am a natural at knowing what herbs to use and how much. Of course, I still refer to my herb reference books. I had my first acupuncture session in Singapore. I fell down and reinjured my bad knee. My father-in-law and husband took me to Alexandra Hospital where I received Western medicine. A month later, my knee was no better. So my father-in-law and husband took me to one of the best senseis in Singapore. After three sessions, my knee was new again! I hope I spelled sensei correctly. Since we have come to the US, we have tried to find a good acupuncturist. The sensei in Singapore was so inexpensive! Here you pay a lot of money for TCM. I wanted acupuncture for chronic hives. The acupuncturist I went to was not very good. My hives were not cured. That was okay. But a numbness in my leg continued for several days. I know you are an excellent healer!

As you feel a kinship with me, so do I for you. I wish we could have known each other while my husband and I were still living in Singapore. Perhaps one day when my husband and I go back to Singapore to visit family and friends, we can meet. I would love to meet you and your wife.

Before I forget, you mentioned Toa Payoh. I loved the hawker center that was there. That is the first place I ever ate in Singapore. We heard it is no longer there.

Love and Blessed Be,
Theresa
