Plato said get ahold kids when they're 10 yrs old. Hence, this becomes a classic battle for the hearts and minds of our youth. Those of us who are from the Christian Rt want to teach our kids morality and proper behavior. Those from the secular humanist/atheist Left wish to keep any reference to God and His Goodness out of schools. They also want their version of 'tolerance, self-expression and govt control' to prevail over time-tested parental guidance.

Furthermore, the teachers unions are very left-wing. Others that work in schools and education lean twd the Left. They dominate public schools and seek to control the debate and policy. By implementing these policies b4 the opposition can react to them, it becomes difficult to overturn these decisions, no matter how outrageous they may seem to us.

They also circumvent the legislative process...as the court decision Roe v. Wade did in the 1970s. Many of our leaders have failed us in this regard, as they run from these hazardous controversial issues to relative safety by looking the other way. After all, its all in the interests of tolerance, understanding and self-expression. Its a cop-out!!

Will this scenario continue to slide us twd oblivion? Only God Himself knows. But it doesnt look good, does it?

Take care, God Bless,

Phil from AZ

Did I spell that right?

"Furthermore, the teachers unions are very left-wing."

That reminds me of CCD this week. A boy (6) wanted to show me that he knows the pledge by heart. He recited it, and I reminded him that what he pronounced "guard" (one nation under "guard") is actually God. He said, "I know, but the teacher says it like that." Another kid said that his teacher says it the same way (different schools).

What is it like where you are? Do they leave God out? Do they say guard instead?

Joan
