Subject: The Pope is coming,
and to Yankee Stadium no less!
Will you try to go to see the Pope at Yankee Stadium. I would love to. He'll be here in April, so I would love to make a holiday of it. The tickets will be very difficult to get, I bet. Maybe I should start the buzz at my church.
Joan

Awesome ! -- Neysa, 13:01:01 11/12/07 Mon [1] (user-38lcitn.dialup.mindspring.com/209.86.75.183)
I didn't think he was visiting the USA until October 2008. That is great that he is coming in April. What other states will the Pope be visiting?

What?!! Seriously, tickets are sold?! One must pay to see him? -- Catie, 16:17:28 11/12/07 Mon [1] (h164.252.213.151.ip.alltel.net/151.213.252.164)
I mean no disrespect- but honestly, WWJD?
I am curious too. I honestly don't know. Did Billy Graham sell tickets to his revivals? I know this might upset a Catholic, but I truly feel sorry for folks who have little or no money. That is sad. I suppose the money goes to charity of some sort, but it still surprises me that tickets are sold to see the Pope.

Catie, I would think that the tickets are free. -- Neysa, 18:27:20 11/12/07 Mon [1] (user-38lciml.dialup.mindspring.com/209.86.74.213)
But there are people who will get a ticket and then turn around and sell it for a lot of money.
When you request a ticket at the Vatican to attend a Wednesday audience those tickets are free. Very difficult to get.
I'm sure that when the Pope comes to NYC, it will be the Archdiocese of New York that decides about the tickets.
I just read that the Pope will also be going to Washington D.C. He was suppose to also go to Boston. Boston is a bit upset if he doesn't come. The Vatican has not yet officially confirmed the Pope's travel plans, so he still might go to Boston.

I'm not sure about tickets. Are they for sale? They might be, since his Mass will be said at Yankee Stadium, and it will have to be rented.
If the Mass were at a Cathedral, they wouldn't charge for a ticket, though I bet you would need a ticket to get in.
Without tickets, crowd control would be impossible.

Joan -- Neysa, 14:11:58 11/13/07 Tue [1] (user-38lcico.dialup.mindspring.com/209.86.73.152)
You can always contact Cardinal ( I think his name is Egan or something like that) his office and they can tell about the tickets. I am very sure they are FREE.
If the Mass is at a cathedral. Tickest are free. The diocese will set aside so many tickets for each parish in that diocese.

Joan....address -- Neysa, 14:37:00 11/13/07 Tue [1] (user-38lcico.dialup.mindspring.com/209.86.73.152)
I found the address and phone number for Cardinal Edward Egan's office. I couldn't find an email address.
1011 First Ave
New York, NY 10022
212-371-1000
Maybe, if you contact the Cardinal's office early enough, you can get tickets near the front to get a good view of the Pope. You might need a letter from your priest, or the bishop of your diocese on your behalf, to send to the Cardinal's office.
If his office gives you the run around ask to speak to the Cardinal's personal secretary or chancelor. There the ones who work very close with the Cardinal and know what is going on.

Are you referring to the fall bishops meeting that was shown on EWTN?
