I would think every devout Catholic would say yes. If one doesn't believe totally in their faith, why would they remain faithful to it? As Christians shouldn't we take hold of the faith, religion, etc, that we feel is the ultimate truth. Everyone should feel theirs is the "one true religion".

Better yet, do you think your denomination, your faith, your church, exclusively will be the bride of Christ upon his return and that all others are doomed?! I know the Pope has stated that there is but one true church, and it's Catholic. :)

No I do not think people of other faiths are doomed. I cannot remember who said it but they said that we are all going to heaven. We are just taking different airlines to get there.

I heard the statement last week were Pope Benedict XVI, said that the Catholic Church is the only true church, and what he said about other religions. That statement is in our Apostles Creed: We are the one true apostolic church,etc...

If any Protestant would trace their family tree far enough back their ancestors were probably Catholic. The Catholic Church will never stop hoping and trying to get the Orthodox and the Protestants to return "home" to the Catholic Church.

It's never going to happen but they will never stop trying. I think the Catholic Church should stop trying and embrace the other religions, and accept that the Orthodox and the Protestants are not going to become Catholic.

I believe that the Catholic Church holds the truth in totality. Other Christian denominations also contain truth, but also some wrong thinking re. the faith and they've rejected some of the truth as well.

Other religions aslo contain truth.

It's impossible to know who will be doomed and who will be rewarded in Heaven. Not being Catholic isn't a guarantee that you (universal you) will be doomed.

I can look it up if anyone is interested, to get the exact wording. As far as I know, the Catholic Church doesn't teach that non-Catholics are doomed.

Yes, I do believe that Catholicism is the one, true Church. As I said before, I believe is is because it contains the whole truth where other denominations reject some of the truth. The difference in belief on the Eucharist is the first thing that comes to mind.
