Subject: RE: Giuliani's Abortion Stand...

No pro-abortion candidate can seriously expect to win support with the Christian Rt and thus, have a chance to win the Republican nomination. By taking a wishy-washy stand on abortion, Giuliani hopes to trick the Christian Rt by pretending to be against abortion, but supporting it legally. That was a part of the Democratic party's strategy during the Election of 2006.

In the end, this trick will fail. While I have some respect for Giuliani's law and order and fiscal policies while mayor of NYC, I do not support him as a candidate for Pres...nor do I think he will collar the Rep nomination. I don't think I have ever voted for a pro-abortion candidate in the last 25 yrs or so.

Finally, I have a great deal of admiration for the Catholic Church's stand against abortion. I just wish they would follow thru with their threat to ex-communicate Dem politicians who take pro-abortion stands. I wonder what low-lifes like Ted Kennedy and Chris Dodd would do if they faced ex-comm? LoL

Take care, God Bless,

Phil from AZ

I agree w/ you on Guiliani. I don't think he has a chance w/ the far right.

I don't think that Kennedy would care if he were excommunicated. He rolls his Catholicity out when it's convenient, but I honestly think that he would be the first to bash the Church if he were excommunicated.

But who am I to say. Maybe his public appearance doesn't reflect his true faith.

...a candidate who believes in abortion can win the Rep'n nomination. While I like Giuliani's stand on most issues, with his socially liberal agenda, I'm baffled that he could think that he would have a chance. Overconfidence maybe? Even if he wins the Rep'n nomination, his chances nationwide would be poor. Again, the Christain Rt would stay home.

As for Ted Kennedy, you're pro'bly right. While he might squirm a lil' at first if he was ex-comm'd, he'd pro'bly start bashing the Church for its 'backward stance' on things. What else would be new with him? Like you, I'm puzzled that folks elect these clowns to ofc. A strong case for term limits? You think? LoL...
