Her face wrinkled as he sprayed her with the shake off from his luxurious coat, her ears laying against her head. When the assault was over, she moved toward him, not bothering to shake off, though she very badly wanted to. She rubbed her lean body along his side, as if he were her own personal bath towel. With a satisfied snort, she bounded away, stopping to finally allow herself to shake off the excess moisture.
The cougar moved silently, yellow eyes focusing on the smaller of the two creatures as she separated from her companion. He could take the two on, of that he was fairly confident. But he had not been driven to desperation by hunger, and therefore didn't want to expend more energy than was necessary to make the kill. If he was swift enough, perhaps her companion would bolt when he saw there'd be no help for her.
Muscles coiled like springs finally released, propelling his huge weight directly at his prey. He didn't make a sound when he lunged, long curled fangs bared, claws extended. He hit his target, his massive weight knocking her from her feet. And then, the fight was on.
She hadn't been expecting the hit...not in the slightest. She stumbled, trying her hardest to maintain her position on her feet. She failed, hitting the earth with a suprised yelp. And then her fighting instinct kicked in, and she let out a snarl, beginning to struggle against the creature. She knew she had to shift...had to shift right NOW...but she just couldn't make it happen as she tried to avoid the whirl of teeth and claws.
