Date Posted: 10:35:04 08/25/09 Tue In reply to: Lyla 's message, "Running Lost and Alone" on 05:58:16 08/25/09 Tue She was just coming out of the safety of the tunnels when the barest hint of something musky touched her sensitive olfactory senses. She paused, and glanced around... What was it... She sniffed again, and stepped without hesitation into the main portion of the subway, away from the tunnels her pack had claimed as their own. She was headed toward the entrance/exit when she got a stronger whiff of the same scent, and paused, deftly stepping out of the way of a business man as he bustled past her, muttering to himself. She ignored him, and focused in on the few individuals making their way out of the cool wind and into the damp, but still underground. Her gaze flicked over a teenage boy in ripped jeans, a white wife beater and a flannel jacket, head bopping to the music pounding against his eardrums from his headphones. Her gaze jumped to a harried looking woman with a toddler on her hip, a couple bags slung over her shoulder, and a rolling luggage case bouncing down the steps behind her. the child was sleeping, sucking its thumb peacefully... Verda dismissed them as quickly as she had the first. then her gaze zeroed in on a female, closest to her, who looked rather... startled, and just a touch uncertain. Interesting. She inhaled again, and the scent was stronger.. like a smack in the face... This was, undoubtedly, a shifter... canine of some sort... smaller.. .fox maybe? She allowed the woman to pass by her, then followed after at a good distance, watching her curiously, suspiciously. Any new shifter was a threat to her pack.. and each new personality had to be scanned and cataloged... sounded sort of like a library... didn't it? As if shifters were books to be categorized.. fiction, romance, non fiction... heh.. the thought made her smile as she trailed behind Lyla, waiting for an opportune moment to approach the fox shifter [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
