Date Posted: 01:37:33 05/06/23 Sat In reply to: Danika 's message, "Australian tobacco excise tax" on 00:27:23 05/06/23 Sat BS indeed. We have a similar 'problem' with kids vaping in school here in the UK. It's become quite a regular feature on news reports. The children usually tell the reporters they are addicted. I suspect in most cases they just want the kudos, but there will certainly be some who are genuinely hooked. It's nice that a product that was supposed to be weaning adults off smoking tobacco is actually helping kids get into chemical addiction. And the manufacturers, bless them, know what they're doing, making the vapes sweet flavoured and attractive to kids. You have my sympathy over the tax hikes and appalling price of cigarettes, as do all smokers. I suppose a very thin silver lining is that the tax revenue stops governments worldwide from banning smoking altogether. I see the OZ ban is on 'recreational vaping' - good luck defining that! And Australia has one of the lowest rates of smoking in the world, so it's all hypocrisy. [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] |
