- Never too late to post a review -- Robert Olislagers (Happy 😎), 11:25:31 05/15/24 Wed [1]
After talking to a neighbor who played with single length clubs (and watching Bryson D), it made sense to try the same. Given that each club playes like a hybrid also made sense to me and I ordered 3-pw with the money back guarantee.
I am 70 and a late comer to golf. It took a while to get used to the clubs on account of my inconsistent play; work, travel, etc. I have since lowered my GHIN from high 28’s to low 23’s. They are now my favorite clubs having ditched my Pings for good. I would not mind a 56 wedge but I am starting to get a little better with the pw, choking down and finishing higher. Still… In any event, I highly recommend these club to anyone who needs a little help due age, high handicap or simply wants to have more fun and fewer swing thoughts to think about. Well worth it.

Had my GRIA irons (plus the utility wedge) for just over a year (added jumbo max grips)-- I am delighted with the clubs- greatly improved direction, trajectory and distance. Was shooting low 100's- high 90's, now shooting low 90's- high 80's. Thank you Gria Golf!

- Sand Wedge? -- Jim Sills (Sills), 12:54:22 10/08/21 Fri [1]
I've just ordered a set of Nova irons, 4-PW, and added the 54 degree utility wedge. I've noticed other folks mentioned a sand wedge... is that the 54 degree wedge you currently have in your inventory? I can't find a "pure" sand wedge anywhere on your web site.

- Purchased 2nd set of Gria Nova irons -- Phil Bartlett, 07:18:44 02/27/21 Sat [1]
I lost my original set of Gria Nova hybrid single length irons in Hurricane Harvey when my vacation home was destroyed. For the last couple of years I have tried several other sets of irons. I am currently playing PXG 0211 irons which I hit okay but not great. I just reordered a set of the Gria Nova irons and look forward to their arrival. I did find during my journey through other sets of irons, that I do better with a shorter shaft so I had my new clubs cut to 36.25 inches. I discovered this at an Edel club fitting for single length iron. Decided not to buy the Edels at $245 per club. Will report later on the length change after a few rounds with my replacement Gria Nova hybrid irons.

- Gria iron review -- John Hanks, 13:16:05 01/12/21 Tue [1]
Just a little info...I'm a 46 year old who is very athletic, 5'11" 195 lbs. Still play very competitive soccer, played college and semi-pro. As the years started catching up to me, I started getting more serious about golf since it didn't hurt as much! I am shooting low 80's and upper 70's consistently now, playing 2-4 times per month. Best round this year was a 74. Several years ago I switched to Cobra F7 one lengths and then to the F8 one lengths. As an engineer, my mind couldn't get over the mechanical theory of one swing, so I had to try them and they worked well for me. I've always been a good iron striker, been driving with a Mizuno MPH5 1 iron for years and hit 90% plus fairways at 250 plus with roll out. Never got along with a driver good enough to keep it in the bag, tried many. Anyway, been playing the F8 OL irons for a few years now and was ready for a change. Tried the forged OL, didn't like them. Tried the F9 and SZ one lengths, didn't like them either. Caught covid at Xmas and spent a lot of time looking into other OL options while in quarantine. Ordered a set of the Gria's because hybrid irons appeal to me and a set of the 1 iron Pro's to be more similar to my current Cobra OL's. Took them both to the range today and spent two hours hitting the 3,5,7, and 9 of each iron set. The Gria's are at least an inch longer, even though I gave the same wrist-to-floor measurement when ordering. That put it in my head that I wasn't going to like them as much as the 1 iron Pro's. Yielded nearly the same distance with both sets for each club...identical distances that I get out of my current set of Cobra's. The ball flight of the Gria's was highest, Cobra was in-between, 1 iron Pro's lowest. The dispersion of the Gria's was the tightest by far, Cobra second, 1 iron just a little bit worse than the Cobra's. Just couldn't miss with the Gria's, so easy to hit straight. Ran a 10 ball test twice and yielded identical results. To be honest, the Gria's felt the best swinging them (my current Cobra's are a regular graphite shaft, I like the head to feel a little heavy) and was the most pleasing sound and feel on impact. Also, the lie and upright position of my stance due to the longer shaft was more visually pleasing. confidence inspiring, and just all around comfortable. Coming from OL's, the low irons being long didn't bother me at all. I'm in love with the 3 iron, so easy to hit and was flying 210-220 for me. I'm out to play a round tomorrow with the Gria's and then Thursday with the 1 iron Pro's. I'll post back the results.
I just wanted to throw this review out there so the younger guys don't pass these up...most of the reviews seem to be from older guys, many who shoot better than me BTW. I've got a lot of buddies who aren't as good as me, have slower swing speeds, but insist on playing blades and such instead of playing what works to keep their score low and the game fun. Sure these aren't the sexiest irons out there, but I'll take a sexy sub-80 score over a sexy club any day of the week! I'll report back tomorrow.

- Clubs Arrived! -- Bruce Warner (Cautiously optimistic . . .), 14:11:34 12/28/20 Mon [1]
My new GRIA Irons arrived at 10:03 on 1/6/2020. The FedX guy pulled up outside and went to the house across the street. I was sad . . . but then, he went back to the truck and got another package and headed to my door. I met him outside on the walk in my pajamas and robe. Opened the irons right there on the porch!
Went to the range that afternoon . . . hit the large bucket (about 100 balls). Hit some good, some crappy . . . went back today, hit another 100. Followed the directions on the website. Hit straighter oftener, farther oftener. Started to get the hang of the same swing each club.
Funny thing . . . hit my driver straighter and longer as well. Booked a tee-time tomorrow. More to follow . . .

- 3 and 4 irons -- Al Joseph (Interested), 06:53:52 06/27/20 Sat [1]
77 year old amateur golfer with little experience. Am interested in single length clubs and intrigued by hybrid irons and I have questions. Purpose of No's 3 and 4 hybrid irons. Are they designed to replace fairway woods? In other words if I had those hybrids in my bag would I have need for a 3 and 5 wood whether hybrid or not? Regarding your No's 3 and 5 hybrid fairway woods, are they the same length as the irons? What about a driver? I often use a 3 wood as my drive as I am crazy lousy with hitting my driver. Would you tee a 3 hybrid wood when using as a driver. Sorry about so many questions. Thanks for any and all advice. Al

- With NOVA - Keep Getting Better -- Jim Edens, 10:14:58 07/25/17 Tue [1]
It has been a while since I posted so I need to give another update with these great clubs. Everyone should take advantage of the SALE.
My game keeps getting better. I bought these clubs in January of 2014. I believe I was a 12 or 13 handicap at the time and I was 69 years old. Below is the % of rounds in the 70's with the 2014 dramatic change noted. 2017 is to date.
2012 10/102 10.2%
2013 23/73 31.5%
2014 56/119 47.1%
2015 82/112 73.2%
2016 86/103 83.5%
2017 61/71 85.9%
As you can see, I am still moving up and will be 73 this fall. I am not long off the tee, around 200 yards and hit the 5 iron about 150, but I am extremely accurate. Previous to this year I had shot 72 six times from the white tees at our club which is a little over 6,000 yards. This year I actually shot a 71.
The dramatic change could only come from these clubs and I cannot thank Ron enough for making golf so enjoyable for me at my old age.

I have played one round with these clubs. I have played single length clubs for about 3 years so I didn't have any trouble getting used to them. I found 2 things about these clubs that I didn't have with my old ones. They have a much higher trajectory and a baby draw. My old irons I hit with no curve. This has allowed me to use a harder golf ball which gives me more distance. They have incorporated all the benefits that I thought were important into these great single length clubs and don't let the oversized grip fool u. They are great.

Always a bit leery when I read product reviews on a seller's site. But, this time I am posting because these clubs are fantastic!! Received from FedEx this morning went straight out to play 18. The clubs performed unbelievably for the first time and with very little time at the range before playing. High and straight is all I can say. My natural swing is a sweeping style and I just could not believe the performance I was getting. Now I have to zero in my distances. I not only received compliments for how they were performing but received even more compliments for how they look.......a successful golf purchase!!

- New owner -- Love the Novas -- Lonnie O., 17:54:13 05/03/18 Thu [1]
I ordered the One Iron clubs as well as the Novas, and did a test trial for a month. I really liked them both, and was really impressed with the quality of both sets. It was a tuff decision, but since I have more of a sweeping swing, the Novas felt a little better for me and my swing style. I can't wait to get out and get more dialed in. My consistency is already improving as is my confidence. This concept makes so much sense and makes a difficult game a little easier. Both Ron at GRIA and Matt at One Iron have been excellent to work with, and I would strongly recommend giving these clubs a try. No one else tells you to be sure and play the clubs a lot, and if you don't like them just send them back. Overall a great experience and I love the clubs.

- Nova irons really working for me -- Mickey Rosen (Better results than expected), 16:17:34 05/09/17 Tue [1]
After returning to golf after a 35 year layoff I've been playing Ping G30 which are great clubs, but the concept of single length irons intrigued me as having only one swing plane, setup, and every club identical in feel made total sense to me. I'm adjusting to these irons quickly and I'm finding a major improvement in my consistency just practicing with a 9 iron. Then every iron is better, and even longer irons which I was having a tough time with are within my grasp so even though I didn't start with a 3 iron I'm adding it as I believe I'll be able to hit it also. I shot 100 my first time out on 18 holes (had only been on the range and 9 hold executive before I got Nova irons) and a week later short 82 on the same course which I'm still trying to come back to earth after. When I don't try to over power and make a smooth swing trying to just brush the ball the results are spectacular; couldn't be happier. I'm 70, in good physical condition, an avid tennis player, and returning to golf after 35 years which I gave up due to back problems. Now I'm retired and really trying to pick up golf where I left off (not like riding a bike I can assure you). I couldn't be happier with Nova, just keeps getting better and better with just consistent practice.

Trying to decide whether Nova Irons would be better than the 1 Iron set for me. I am 62, 5'10" and have a generally upright swing. I feel comfortable hitting shorter irons but inconsistent with all woods, including hybrids. I hit a 5 iron about 160, tee off with a 3 wood and hit it about 220 but inconsistently. my WTF is 34.5".

I have not posted in a while but I just want everyone to know I am still happy with the clubs. I ordered the clubs in January of 2014. In 2013 I played 32% of my rounds in the 70's. In 2014 I played 47% in the 70's and had 4 rounds of even par - 72. In 2015 I have 73% of my rounds in the 70's and so far I have had 85% in the 70's in 2016. I normally play around 110 rounds per year and so far this year I have played 58 rounds. These clubs are great and I am 71 years old and will soon be 72.
I do not see any guys my age getting better each year. Especially when you lose distance as you get older. I play at a Country Club in NC, play the White tees which is a 6,000 yard course. I just beat a Blue tee guy, 3 handicap who hits the ball a mile in match play. He had to give me 1 stroke and I beat him 4 and 2 and shot a 72 to his 74.
THESE CLUBS ARE GREAT AND IF YOU ARE ON THE FENCE, MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE.

- Eleven months in -- Michael Sheridan (Very pleased), 17:41:30 10/01/16 Sat [1]
I bought a set of these clubs just under a year ago and I've deliberately held off from commenting until now. All too often we make a snap judgement I think, and I wanted to avoid that. I'm in my mid-seventies, I've been playing golf for nearly fifty years until a severe back injury forced me to stop. I came back to the game just over a year ago and I was all over the place. I only had - and still have - limited movement and the longer irons were a nightmare. In fact they were useless. Did things change with the Nova clubs? Not at first, no. My mindset was still on conventional clubs and the "long irons" were still giving me problems. So I changed my thinking. I started taking just one iron - any iron - to the practice ground with the constant thought that what I had in my hand was a pitching wedge. So hit it like a full wedge shot. After all, with these clubs the only difference between a wedge and a 3-iron is the loft. And it worked. This year so far I have dropped 6 shots from my handicap and I haven't had to buy a ball all season. Just for the record I can hit the wedge 70/75 metres on the bounce and the three iron 150/155 metres, both with a high degree of accuracy. At my club, in my age group, I am easily one of the longer hitters despite - or perhaps because of - my restricted swing. These clubs, coupled with a bit of corrective thinking, have made all that possible. They are a joy to play with and I can't recommend them highly enough.

Hi Ron,
I have had my Nova set about 4 weeks; I have been to the range 6-8 times and played about 4 times (had to sit out a week for some surgery). I just in the last couple of days have started to hit them with good consistency, and predictability. You really have go to the range and put n a little work, but it's worth it!
Started playing 4 years ago and am 74.5 years old. Handicap is about 16; the last 2 days shot 84, and 86 today on a wet course. So I am well pleased, and my playing friends have taken note, especially since some of them have been playing 40+ years. NOW MY QUESTION IS THIS: I SEEM TO BE HAVING A LITTLE TROUBLE GETTING GOOD DISTANCE AND CONSISTENCY WITH THE 3 & 4. CAN U OFFER ANY ADVICE TO HELP ME WITH THESE CLUBS. OTHERWISE I LOVE THE CLUBS.

Ok, ordered my Nova's and took them to the local course the day they arrived! No warm-up, simply opened the box and unwrapped the club I needed for that particular distance. That day I shot 5 under my best score for that course. I was sold and have been happy with them since! Have had them over a month now and have lowered my handicap by 8 points!

- DON'TMESS WITH PERFECTION -- Robert Burney (relaxed at last), 23:14:06 04/11/16 Mon [1]
Bought the Nova's about a year and a half ago as my game had gone to the upper 90's. They were great, went down to low 80's.
Then thought I could tweek abit. started adding a couple of fairway woods, then a driver and a recovery club. YEP MY SCORES WENT UP TO HIGH 90'S.
Went back to only the NOVA's and in just 4 outing--back to low 80's. These clubs do all that is promise, I'm 73 and can only say don't hesitate to get a set and follow the suggestions given. thanks again Nova

- My new Nova irons -- Colin (Belcher), 07:35:44 03/01/16 Tue [1]
I finally decided to take the plunge and buy the Nova irons. I called and spoke with Ron and he answered all my questions. I decided to buy the used/demo set, which were in practically mint condition. The first time on the range I new I had made the right decision.
Iron play was the weakest past of my game. I am naturally a sweeper of the golf ball. I come from a baseball background, and swing with a flatter style. The more i tried to"hit down" on the ball, and the more lessons I took the more my swing got worse. It wasn't a natural swing for me. I decided to try the Nova irons because they seemed to be suited for my sweeping style of swing. Well a few range sessions, and a few rounds later, I am here to tell you that this was the right decision. I love these clubs.
My swing is not consistent, so I still haven't reaped the full benefits of the clubs, but they have made a big difference in my game. I can now acyclovir hit a 3 iron shot. First time on the course i was 210 yds from center of the green according to the gps. Hot my 3 iron to about 10 feet short of the green 15-20 yards from center of the green, and right on line. The past about this that amazes me is that i could never hit an iron longer than a7 and Eben the shorter irons give me fits. With the Nova irons I can hit every club. My distance gaps are what they were with my Taylor Made Rocketballs irons, the only difference is that i can actually get good contact and flight more often.
My swing still needs work, and the clubs are not a miracle cure for my game. I do however have way more good shots than i have ever had with traditional irons, and my misses are less damaging than before. If you are on the fence about trying the Nova irons, like I was, do yourself a favor and give them a go. I know that the more I get used to the irons, and get more consistent with my setup and swing, that my results will get even better.
Thanks Ron, for putting out a great product, and being available to answer all the questions I had when making the decision to buy. I am a satisfied customer and hope that this may have helped someone else with their decision.

I recently purchased the Nova Hybrid Irons and I must say I have never enjoyed the game of golf more then I have the last 3 weeks. I am 64 and took up the game 4 years ago. I had tried about EVERY hybrid iron available, ADAMS,TAYLORMADE,PING,TOUR EDGE,WEDGEWOOD, you name it and I tried it! LOL. I was looking for Consistency in my golf swing.I read your entire website and it made so much sense,1 length club,1 ball placement,1 swing, Finally CONSISTENCY!!Because of your 30 day return policy I figured I had nothing to lose. WOW!! was I surprised, these are so easy to hit long, high, and straight!I have so much confidence now when I stand over the ball. IN 3 weeks I went from shooting in the mid 90's to shooting in the mid 80"s in just 3 weeks! These are Awesome clubs!! Thanks for making the game of golf FUN again. I sure wish I had found these clubs 4 years ago!!

- Finally! -- James (Schwartz), 06:01:10 11/22/15 Sun [1]
My Nova Hybrids, a 55th birthday gift to myself, arrived last week. I played them for the first time yesterday, a crisp but sunny New England Saturday. I'm throwing away the shipping box today. These are keepers.
Since taking up the game three years ago, I've never been so equally loved and hated a game. Despite playing at least twice a week and hitting thousands of range balls, I am stuck above 100. One of my struggles is that I just can not get the hang of hitting down on the ball.
I felt validated when I happened across the Nova Hybrid web site, with its explanation of sweeping hybrid irons. I'll always be a sweeper. But Nova explained that sweeping is OK, as long as the clubs are designed for it.
So what happened out there yesterday? In two words: finally, success.
I left my driver, 3 wood and SW at home, bringing only the 3-PW Nova Hybrids and putter. I reached the first 2 greens in regulation and started with a par and bogey.
Then I decayed a bit for the next few holes, alternating stunningly great and horrible shots. But the thins and chunks had nothing to do with the clubs. Instead, I fell into "Golf Course Syndrome." For those unfamiliar with the term, don't worry, I made it up. Any or all of three things cause Golf Course Syndrome: 1) forgetting to focus on fundamentals after a few good shots, also called, I got this syndrome; 2) raising the head early, and with it the entire body and club's relationship to the ball, from inability to resist watching the ball flight; or 3) succumbing to the long distances, leading to over swinging.
I then spent a few more holes wondering where the breakdown was coming from (as if I shouldn't see it immediately by now). But I brought it back once I recognized that initial success led to neglecting a still head, spine angle maintenance through the follow through and easy swinging. At that point the clubs started working again. I had consistency like never before through the last few holes. I got a glimpse of why good players have fun through an entire round.
These are great clubs for teaching an old dog the new trick of hitting a golf ball. My advice - don't bother with learning eight different swing planes, spine angles and ball positions when one will do very nicely. I like to joke that my attitude toward my golf skills is similar to Ted Williams who famously said, "As a hitter, I'm at my best when I only fail two times out of three." With these Novas, I anticipate retiring that joke.

Put away my forged irons and went back to Nova irons. First time out, almost birded all 4 par 3s. Went from Mid 80s to Mid-High 70s. The ball flies much higher and will stay on hard fast greens. Hence, I can use a lower spin ball. I only use 6-PW because of heavy ruff on each side of fairways and around greens. I use regular hybrids 3-6 to power through the ruff. I would be a very happy man if you added a 52* & 56*. I would probably shoot my age 70!

- Advantages of Switching to 1 Iron hybrid -- Tony Izzo (Curious Senior), 14:09:43 10/21/15 Wed [1]
I am an 81 year old senior still at it and interested how the one iron system can help me.
I currently play with Callaway Razr HL combo irons and hybrids of course with senior flex shafts. The HL hybrids run from 4H to 7H and HL irons run from 8i to Gap wedge. In addition I have conventional Cleveland Sand wedge and Lob wedge. Woods consist of a Nicklaus Dual Point 460 CC Driver with a very light special shaf, 3 and 5 Diablo Edge Woods.
I am in pretty good shape for my age but seem to have lost significant swing speed.
I get my diver out around 180 yards, 3 Wood almost as far and 5 Wood 150 to 165 yards. I use a shut faced Mike Austin type swing. As I get older my swing sets up more smoothly to the longer clubs especially my 5 wood which is 42 inches long. I hit the hybrids much better than the irons ( 8 though A). The irons have been a problem lately
The prospects of a single length shaft really has my interest especially maybe in hybrids.
However my WTF is 34.5 inches. Does this mean that the length would be only that of an 8 iron which is much shorter than that 5 wood I am hitting well.
Are there any seniors out there, my age, that have made the transition to these clubs and is the approximate 8 iron length for my WTF 34 .5 inch measurement ?
Thanks,
Tony Izzo

- Nova irons distance -- Mike Gerosa (Gerosa), 17:41:53 09/19/15 Sat [0]
Question for those who have played both the 1 irons and the Novas. Did you find the Novas to have more distance than the 1 irons? I'm thinking they might because of the graphite shafts. Did you find the dispersion similar to the 1 irons? I know dispersion is great on the 1 irons, but concerned about accuracy of graphite shafts compared to 1 iron steel shafts. I'm 66 year old smaller man, and looking for distance. My 8 iron swing speed is 67 and need help with distance.

- Great Game Improvement Irons -- Chris Tarangul, 18:37:11 07/31/15 Fri [1]
I recently purchased the Nova Hybrid Irons after having played with Hogan Edge GS forged irons for over 25 years, and having never once broken 100 in that entire time Faced with the opportunity to play more, I decided to give single length irons a try and chose the Nova's based on all that I read. I noticed immediate improvement in my ball striking which had always been very inconsistent, and my first three rounds were 105, 107, and 103. Then two days ago that historic, and heretofore elusive, event finally occurred. I shot a 99 and needed to execute a pressure packed third shot over water on #18 to pull it off. One difference was I was confident this time standing over an important shot, iron in hand, instead of feeling impending doom as in the past. I know shooting a 99 might not be a big deal to most golfers, but for me it was like clearing a hurdle and passing a milestone that never before seemed possible. The Nova irons are what made the difference. They are unquestionably easier to hit solidly, consistently, and with more distance. I can unequivocally and unreservedly recommend them to any level of golfer, because no matter the level who doesn't want to get better. For me they make the game far more enjoyable to play. And the customer service is first rate. I wanted to exchange my original set for ones with a shorter shaft. It was no problem whatsoever, and was handled courteously and quickly. With a 30-day money back guarantee there's no downside for anyone that's considering new clubs to giving the Nova Hybrid irons a try.

- NOVA WORKS -- Tristan Starbird (BIRD), 18:31:53 07/19/15 Sun [1]
Sunday, June 14th at Country View Golf Course in Brooks, ME I hit my first "HOLE IN ONE" 125 Yard/Par 3. I hit the NOVA 9i and watched the slight draw hit the turf and role right to left in the cup! I have been playing the NOVA's on and off for 2 years. I like them when I am hitting them sweet and I hate them when I am swinging too quick! I need stuff shafts in the Driver and Metals and get the floppy swing feeling at times with the NOVAs. I have had the option to buy new irons in the last 6 months and have done all the testing and research to exhaustion. However, given my experience with the NOVAs over the last two years I cannot bring myself to switch. They provide effortless distance, and they are easy on my back. I can get out of any lie. My struggle has been to adjust to the pitching and chipping around the green. I have been a VOKEY wedge player for 12 years and am used to a high flop or a tight spinner. The bump and run is an art I have not been able to master.
My overall review of the NOVAs is they are worth a shot if you are willing to go "all in" and commit to them. I have noticed in the past 2 months(after playing with them for nearly 2 years) that I am playing my best and committed to the clubs. The swing is free (er) the distance is effortless, and the target is beginning to look and play bigger and bigger as my confidence rises.
I am the most skeptical and learned of the golf club market these days and I am sold on the NOVA (1iron) way. Same degree gaps, same lengths, equals more consistent ball striking. There is no substitute for putting the "work" in but having the NOVAs I can hang in there every round even if I have had a long lay off for whatever reason.

- Golf Swing with the Nova's -- Bill Brown (Excited), 20:32:16 06/11/15 Thu [1]
Well the playability tips were to sweep the ball and play it forward. I just struggled with my first few buckets of balls until...I decided to just plain hit them as I do my driver. Yes the same swing as my driver. That was the key for me. My driver swing is just a big smooth arc on plane sweeping the ball off the tee. That is the swing I use for my Nova's. Because they are shorter the plane is obviously adjusted to this one distance from the ball. I also like Bryson Dechambeau hold my arms more towards the ball so I have a single plane swing. Voila one swing and all clubs hit the sweet spot and boy that ball travels right at the target. Thanks Gria.

Only question--can I order a single iron?? I need one to carry in the car for use at driving ranges when I am on the road. doesn't matter which one, they all swing the same. just don't want to take the chance of loosing one from my set.
thanks for the great clubs.

I have seen some previous comments on this subject and I remain curious. I have been playing 1irons for several years and I have always thought the concept with a graphite shaft, would be an improvement for my game. I do use a single axis swing I learned from the old Natural Golf Company. I am considering the GRIA hybrids.
My 1irons have 4 wedges and the GRIAs have only a PW. What does everybody use for wedge shots shorter than a PW? My understanding from the previous posts is that the design of the PW is so good that you don't need any other wedge. Do most players control the distance with the length of their swing with the PW?

I decided it was time to buy a new set of irons after 5 years of the same old results. I have been reading about the hybrid irons on-line and started researching different brands. I noticed that all the "big" name suppliers offered some type hybrid iron but they were just normal irons with a different name. I came across the Nova hybrids and to my surprise they actually were hybrids, so I took them up on the 30 day return policy. No return here! These irons perform just like they are advertised, easy to hit, and just as straight. I play at least every other day in Fla. and my confidence is off the charts.
If you are on the fence, give'em a try, nothing to loose and the results are almost immediate.

- Another convert -- Gary Weichert, 17:38:56 10/20/14 Mon [1]
I’ve had my Nova’s for a month now, and can’t believe how much more enjoyable my golf game is now. I am fairly new to the game (5-years), 60 years old, in decent physical shape, with a goal to eventually play a respectable and fun game in the 80’s. No unrealistic visions of golfing grandeur here. My game was hovering around the 100 mark, and seemingly not going to get any better. I shot an even 90 the other day, my all-time best. Suffice it to say, I will NOT be returning them.
I don’t pretend that the Nova’s are a magic bullet, but they sure are easy to hit. The transition period for me was extremely short (two range sessions, and the first half of an 18-hole round). I now have my PW dialed in for everything from 50 to 110 yards, and the rest of the irons hitting a consistent yardage of a 10-yard increase from my old clubs. My mis-hits now are down to about 1 out of 10, where they had been occurring at a rate of about 1 out of 3 swings with my standard clubs. Fitting surely has something to do with that improvement, along with the hybrid design, but the one-length/one weight concept (which just seems like a no-brainer to me) is REALLY making improving my iron swing soooo much easier. And I almost forgot to mention the fact that my Nova’s hit as straight as advertised. Just me improving? I’d like to say yes, but I don’t think so.

Dear Ron. This is from John Brackenridge here in Australia and this is what has transpired since Monday 1st September after looking at golf outlets with intent on getting a new set of clubs listing to all the usual jargon and knowing of Nova system decided to go ahead with the Nova's based on two points a) the use of 17/4 metal which are the same as my old set b) the logic behind the one golf set up. So on that Monday paid my purchase and to my amazement the clubs were at my door on the Friday 5th September unfortunately didn't expect that as we were out so the delivery was made the following week what a service, anyway unpacked the clubs and these are a demo set but credit to the company as they were individually wraps and in mint condition. I have a 5 minute walk to get on my golf course (Wirrina Cove South Australia) so I took a couple of my old irons to get a early comparison to the new also I might add are wonderful grips so comfortable again your research is spot on. So back to the matter at hand these clubs. I am so pleased, its early days yet but the ease of hitting long and straight is a joy to behold. Bottom line is this, all the information regarding your products is spot on a pleasure to do business with you Yours truly John Brackenridge

I have posted several times before, but just wanted to update everyone. Last year, I briefly had my handicap down to a 9, but it went up 11 and 12 very quickly. This year with the new clubs I am an 8 and I am hitting it much, much further than I ever have. And my handicap has stayed at the 8 since the first of May
The clubs are just amazing. My 7, 8, 9, and PW shots into the green are so accurate. My greens in regulation goal for this year was 9 and my average is 10 with my normal now around 11 or 12 per round. I wish he made a putter because I am not making enough birdie putts.
I am just amazed a how my game has turned around. These are the best clubs I have ever seen or used.

I retired 4 years ago and I play 9 holes 4 times a week. I have been using Hybrid woods exclusively and had moderate success. I came across the Gria Golf web site and wondered how hybrid irons would benefit my game compared to the hybrid wood clubs I already have. I can tell you that after 2 months using a the hybrid irons, I stopped carrying all but 1 of my hybrid woods. The ease in which I can hit the ball and the ball actually ends up where I am aiming it is remarkable. The beauty of using these hybrid irons, is that I did not have to change my swing at all. The swing plane is the same for the irons as well as the woods. I bought a new set because I wanted to try them out with a piece of mind of a return policy. My buddy Al purchased a demo set and you could not tell the difference between the 2 sets.
I was so impressed that I wanted to share my story!

Based upon everything I read and after speaking to Ron, (super nice guy, by the way)I took a leap of faith and purchased a new set of hybrids last week. I had been using a set of Ben Hogan hybrids (the Edge) and was happy with them but it was time for something new.
I had been fitted by a golf pro and was shopping and swinging all of the major brands from Taylor Made, Titleist, Ping, Adams etc. Money was not the issue whatsoever in deciding which irons to buy. I chose these, without ever trying them of course, since I live in California and I was pleasantly surprised. Everything about these clubs is superior to what I was considering. They look and feel fabulous & immediate results have been great! I'm 6'3", 220 and finally feel like I have clubs that weren't made for someone half my size.
If you are on the fence about these clubs, don't be afraid to challenge conventional "wisdom" about different/same length clubs. You'll be so glad you did. I honestly think I now have an unfair advantage over my traditional club friends. And best of all they're (well) made in USA!

I have posted a few times with very positive comments. My experience since last Saturday is remarkable.
I shot my all time low on Saturday with 15 pars and 3 bogies. I had 6 opportunities for birdies from 7 feet to 15 feet but missed them all. That was a 75.
Then on Wednesday and Thursday I followed up with two 74's. I still missed some birdie putts within that distance, but did make two on Wednesday. On Thursday, I had 2 birdies and they were two footers. The irons are so right on I literally cannot believe it.
I have been playing golf for nearly 60 years and I am in my 70th year now, but playing the absolute best golf of my like.

- Do not WAIT -- Ernie, 10:05:50 01/22/14 Wed [1]
I had been reading the Gria golf site for the past year and was finally convinced to give their system a try. I wanted to save some money I bought the used/demo set but was hesitant about the condition of the clubs and the fact that they could not be returned. Anyway, I went ahead and ordered them. Two things: 1) The clubs look brand new, and 2) I would never return these clubs in a million years. The quality of design and build are the best I've ever seen and I've played all the top brands. For the first time in my life I have golf clubs that just feel right, like they were designed specifically for me. I might also add that they play as well as they feel - solid, long, and accurate. Best clubs I've ever played!
My only regret is that I waited a year to order the clubs.
Thanks, ernie

- Believer! -- Max, 06:47:08 01/05/14 Sun [1]
I got my hybrids 2 weeks ago, I was skeptical about a the whole hybrid iron concept. My feelings have completely changed! I can hit every club in the bag now, and what results. No more mis-hits or shanks. The trips to the range paid off in spaids. Now I have no trouble pulling out my 3Iron and putting where I want it. Never had that happened before. I am a believer, and you will be too.
Thanks Max T.

The irons only go up to pitching wedge, and there's a note about how playable they are for short shots. But, how playable are they really? More precisely, what other wedges should I have to go with the hybrids? For instance, somehow I can't see hitting a buried lie in a bunker with a hybrid iron.

- Nova ball position -- Jerry R., 16:14:46 07/03/13 Wed [3]
I just ordered a set of Nova hybrids today, been looking at them for about a year. I am 63 and only started playing golf 4 years ago. I would like to here from some of you who have been playing the Nova hybrids regarding ball position. Have you found that the 1 ball left of the center of your stance is the right position for you? Also I play on courses in NW Michigan that have a lot of up and down hill lies as well as above your feet and below your feet lies. Do you move your ball position slightly back toward the center of your stance for instance on a downhill lie? Just looking for other folks experience to get an idea of where they are playing the ball. I am very skeptical about these clubs lowering my score, but figured I could not go wrong with the 30 day money back offer. The best club I hit in my bag right now is an Adams 6 hybrid, which happens to be the same lie and length as the Novas so thought maybe I could hit all the lofts better with the Novas.

Anway I'm thinking about adding a driver - any thoughts on something suitable - what about the 1-Iron Titanium driver -would it be a good fit? I gather it's a bit shorter than most. Any other suggestions?

- An e-mail we received -- Ron Davis, 10:06:45 07/15/13 Mon [1]
I love the clubs. They are the most accurate irons I’ve ever shot.
It only took a couple weeks to acclimate. (It would have been less time if I followed the special instructions”, but I’ a guy.)
The heads are just slightly heavier than my old Callaway’s, a little more like trouble wood with more MOI (moment of inertia)
My only issue was occasionally hitting the ground first if swinging hard, standing “over” the ball a tad (just habit with the old irons, & memory muscle)
But I have that absolutely fixed now.
I reread and followed the swing suggestions, sweeping the ball, not striking down on it.
I actually remembered to sweep, not strike down, on the second hole from 3 weeks ago in league play.
I’ve not miss hit an iron since.I’ve hit more greens in regulation than ever before. I learned to stretch it out a half inch more and I’m getting very deadly with them.I make sure I can just reach the ball to sweep it, no closer. They are the most accurate irons I’ve shot, and greater distance. Where I aim is exactly where they go. I’ve already won two closest to pins contest.” My friends keep asking what I ate for breakfast. Then they asked to look at my irons, amazed the clubs are single (5 iron) length and work so well. They are being damn nice about losing the hole and match. It’s a great group of fellow aerospace engineers, techs and managers. I’m getting compliments on my consistent play. “Man you’re on fire”. Thanks, but well, not exactly, I figured out my new irons and have been doing this for 3 weeks.…., Maybe you noticed we don’t have a lock on last place anymore. (We move up 4 slots in 3 weeks in the standings)
Last three weeks our team took 75% of the individual hole points and all of the team points for lower total net. As a strong swinger I was worried about the torsional stiffness before I bought them. The lateral and rotational stiffness is perfectly balanced, my compliments to the engineering.
Kind regards,
Steve Lane

- Trouble using 3 iron -- Dave, 02:50:36 07/10/13 Wed [2]
I used your irons for the first time today at the range it felt a bit odd using a pitching wedge that was so long at first but the flight and distace was the same as my normal pitchig wedge but much tighter grouping. I am using the same set up and swing for evey club and found all of the irons to be very accurate and easy to get off the ground except the 3 iron sometimes it has a low trejectory sometimes I pull it to the left and is only going about the distance of the 5 iron when I do get it straight and off the ground. Would you have any theories on this.

They may be used-demos but they look practically brand new to me. The biggest thing is how they hit the ball off the club-face with hardly no mishits out of a full bucket of balls. I'm guessing that every iron is about 3 to 5 yards farther than my Callaways and straight where I'm aiming.

67 y.o., 6'4", 37" f to w, 14 index, 30yr recreational golf. Been fit over a dozen times over the past years. Never felt comfortable with irons. Last fit was at the manufacturer in Arizona. Even tried 1 IRONS but the steel shafts were too heavy. Told David Lake if you ever have graphite shafts I would be interested. Wah Lah! Nova irons. Love these irons! I can handle the weight and the variable-lie sole allows the clubs to fit my swing and different lies. I use the distances from Dave Tutelman's article on "Constant-Length Irons". They are so accurate; I taped the yardages on each shaft so I can see them from the bag. I play on a difficult mountain course with small greens; several elevated. I would pay a premium for a NOVA GW 52*. I know it's an uphill battle bucking the established thinking, but the word need to get out about how good these irons are for the "average golfer". Thanks.....

- Hitting from long rough -- Fred Atkins, 18:35:21 05/20/12 Sun [3]
I’ve had my Novas for 2 months and love them. Scores came down 8-12 strokes consistently. However, now that our course has greened up, I find that Novas are VERY hard to hit out of long rough (our rough is the depth of a ball—about 1 ¼”). I think it’s for 2 reasons: 1.) the sweeping swing enters the grass 5 or 6 inches behind the ball as opposed to about an inch with a traditional iron hitting down, 2.) there is much more surface area on the sole that creates additional drag. The club head really gets hung up in the grass, rather than pushing through it, like a hybrid wood does. I actually pulled a muscle in my wrist hitting out of some long grass. The same problems exist when chipping from long grass around the greens. You get a bunch of grass between the clubface and the ball. The only solution I know is to not hit it in the rough, but since that’s not possible, I now carry a traditional 8 iron to hack it out of long rough.
I also find them less forgiving on very closely mowed fairways. If you hit even a little behind the ball, the bounce in the club head deflects the club up, causing a skulled shot.
Nonetheless, I am sticking with them. They are definitely longer and straighter and easier to hit.

I have had the Nova Irons for 30 days. I have played 9 rounds of golf. I have 3 rounds in the 70s and 6 rounds in the 80s. Low of 77 and high of 87. My handicap has come down 1.7 points. It is so much more fun to be putting for a birdie instead of chipping for one. My golf buddies are starting to take notice about how much better my shots are. Thanks Ron, these clubs are game changing.

- Chipping Club -- Björn, 04:54:02 01/18/12 Wed [2]
Bought the Novas Jan.1, what a difference they have made in my game. Previously had been carrying a utility chipping club in my bag. Discovered that these Novas make a wonderful chipping club around the greens. I play a course where there are a lot of bump and run shots, my utility club now is on e-bay.

Took my new irons to the range for some practice. My wife came along and by the time we left, I had to order a second set! Guys, if your wife golfs, order a second set!

- New Hybrid Irons -- Robert, 16:48:49 01/11/12 Wed [1]
Just received 3-PW, this week. Practiced with the 3, 5, and 7 first. Probably should have practiced more but was offered a round and had to play with my new irons.
The irons were very comfortable and the distance and accuracy was awesome!. I will need a little more practice to get my single length swing consistent. I just wished I had started golfing with these irons 3 years ago.
Now all of my irons are useful and they are all easy to hit.
Much thanks Gria Golf

- Nova Irons -- Mel Connelly, 17:09:53 12/28/11 Wed [3]
I received my Nova Irons on Dec. 21, I went to the driving range three times. Had no trouble hitting any club. On Monday Dec. 26 I played my first round. I am 66 years old and have been playing David Lakes 1 Irons for two years. On mt first time out I shot a 77. I played my second round today, I shot a 79. I have only broke 80 twice before this whole year. This is by far the best set of irons I have ever played. Good job David.

Had the Novas sent to Florida, can't believe how easy they are to hit. The most comfortable rounds of golf so far. Low scores and no pain.

Can the NOVA hybrid irons be purchased individually? I am interested in the #3 and #4 to replace my #5 and #7 woods.
