Indeed. The brown agreed with Xiualith. I think I may have to teach him a few things. But at least he is devoted to your rider. Trust me � I think I may have to fly you when you rise.

He then immersed himself studiously in his meat, annoyed that his rider�s emotions were effecting him so much. He would have to sort out some ground rules when they got to the barracks. M�att was a brownrider now, after all, and he needed to conduct himself accordingly.

M�att himself smiled at Synthis, gently moving his hand from her cheek to her back, and pulled her closer to him, slowly. His lips met hers and parted as he kissed her, and even he was astonished at the fervour with which he did so. But then he pulled back, looking away.

�Synthis, are you sure? Really sure?�
