Subject: Sister's wedding
In reply to: Anita 's message, "Taking the kids to fine society events, dressed up and barefoot" on 2022-05-22 09:33:47

Next Saturday will be my sister's wedding, a formal affair in the church and town hall, so a lot of suits and elegant dresses are to be expected. We decided for elegant but summery outfits. Of course all four children go barefoot, they wouldn't agree to anything else and it's also how the rest of the family knows them. Having read the accounts of others it seems like a bunch of cheerful, stylishly dressed barefoot children are really are positively received at festive events like this!

Our girls will wear light blue summer dresses and white cloth hats with coloured bows. My wife has a similar dress and hat, combining it with her white low heeled sandals.
For our boys and me we have white short sleeved shirts with coloured bow ties and long blue dress pants, I will wear blue loafers. We all get a pedicure before, with the girls and my wife putting on nail polish corresponding to the colour of each one's bow. The kids totally love the idea of dressing up like the adults with the exception of shoes and socks!

By the time we arrive at the ceremony from the parking garage, all four children's bare soles might have taken on a subtly dark tinge, which we have no doubt just adds positively to the picture. I'm sure their bare feet will stand out against all the high heels and dress shoes in the most adorable way and maybe they will inspire other attending children to take off their shoes and socks if those don't come barefoot in the first place.
