Diane, I haven't tried this one, but got it out of an old Australian/American cook book.. so maybe you could experiment.
2 small onions finely chopped..
2 tablespoons of vinegar
2 tablespoons of worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon of chili powder
3/4 cup of water
3/4 cup of tomato sauce
Salt..
Mix all in heavy saucepan, cover and simmer about 45 mins, Keep in covered container in frig to use as needed.
Wish I was nearer so I could feast on a super-duper boXer burger!
