Subject: What do the rules say Karen?

Surely there is some criteria that has to be adhered to regarding supervision of children under a certain age (and sometimes height too) at these places? At our local swimming centre it goes something like every child under seven must have an adult present and responsible for them at poolside (that means at THEIR poolside - not out in the main pools) and no child may be left alone at the pools without parental or other responsible adult/s remaining within the pool buildings. It's something like that anyway. And as for the little ones in the paddling pool or using the kiddies pool - they are not allowed in without a parent or responsible person actually getting IN the water with them!

What sort of rules are in place at this Water World? It seems bizarre to me that lifeguards (which we also have patroling the pools) end up being babysitters. Bizarre and potentially very dangerous for all the swimmers present that may need the actual services of a life guard but they are busy babysitting. :(
