The first was when the boys were small, we bought a 30s semi in Burnley,
Lancashire. Mark the youngest was still in a cot and all 3 slept in the
same room,(their choice). One night Luke woke up screaming that a man
was standing over him. This happened on several occasions and we were
going to move the boys into our room if it happened again, the man never
went back into the bedroom.

We had an outhouse where the coal was kept, (we had solid fuel central
heating at that time), and when ever I went out in the dark to get some
coal, this man came with me. I never felt threatened just that he was
looking after me and making sure that I was OK.

Whe we had the house altered, the kitchen was extended and we went
over to gas central heating, I say him less often. Sometines when making
supper he would come downstairs and go into the lounge. Only Luke and
I ever saw him.

The other story was after we moved into this house and we joined a
babysitting circle. We took it in turns to babysit for each other.

I was babysitting in a house round the corner and luckily I knew about this
ghost. I was watching the TV when a boy of about 9 year old, dressing in
clothing about the time of the turn of the last century, 1900, was sitting on
the settee. I had been told to tell him to go home if I saw him, so I did.
He then disapeared.

It is on record and in the old newspapers about a 9 year old boy had
drowned in a pond in 1908, and the house was situated over the pond.

Apart from some of the family, I was the only person to see him.
