My daughter's MIL has a big, old lemon tree and every year gives us a grocery bag full of them.

Lemonade

Combine in saucepan:
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
Rind of 2 lemons cut in pieces

Stir over low heat until sugar is dissolved.
Boil about 1 minute - discard rind and cool.

Add

1 cup fresh lemon juice (5-6 lemons)
4 cups ice water

Lemon meringue pie is my absolute favorite. In fact we just polished off a good one between the 2 of us! I make a pretty good one.........but Marie Callender does a better job.

Lemon rinds do a great job of cleaning your garbage disposal and make your sink smell good.
