The Clydesdale is taller and has longer legs than the Shire and it was
breed for the countryside around the Clyde in Scotland.

Dressage is not difficult to teach to a horse, the problem is the rider who's
co-ordination and balance is not so good. The rider has to be perfectly
balanced with a supple body, and can use both hands and legs
independently.

Horses learn mainly by trial and error i.e. when teach them to rein back,
your ask with your legs, and stop them going forward with just enough
pressure on the mouth. It is advisable to have something in front of you
like a fence or wall to help stop them going forward. The horse will then
try to guess what you want by trying different movements, going sidewards
or just moving the quarters. eventually he will take a step back, lots of
praise and reward him by taking him away from the obsticle. Soon he
will get the idea of going backwards and you can take the obsticle away.

Does this make sense.
