I can only say I was never forbidden to read anything. By the age of 14, I had read every paperback novel our small town library carried - and still to this day read at least 3 novels a week. (I also work full time, go to school part time and have 2 sons, 1 dog and a husband) - I just gave up television and read books instead. If I had been forbidden to read something as a child I would have found a way to read it anyway. It is much better (IMveryHO) to have your daughter be able to come to you about anything she reads. You may find that the books open a new avenue for discussions (especially about the *birds and bees*)- which is never easy as a parent. Good Luck and go with your instinct on this, you know your daughter like no one else!
