I was sure I posted to this before but maybe I didn't put my name on so it disappeard - I seem to be doing that a lot lately. :( You have lavender in the heat pack you use for Barney right? Maybe that's the best alternative rather than massaging with the oils. I did one (a heat pack) once with peppercorns and thyme and various other herbal "warming" things in it and it was VERY nice!! That was a rice pack, I also made a plain salt pack which doesn't hold its heat as long but is a useful alternative and has some specific uses as well (I was reading in a herbal on the weekend about it - if anyones interested I'll look up what it said as it's not coming to mind right now).

Lets see if I can get this one to stick ;-)
