Lisa when you pot them up try adding a couple or so banana skins to the bottom of the pot. They are extremely well balanced organic fertilizer that help roses grow well so I can't see that they wouldn't be helpful for tomatoes too. Also - plant creeping chamomile, nastursiums and marigolds in the pot if you can - the chamomile is reputed to help plants thrive, nastursiums and marigolds may help keep away some of the wee beasties and they'll look pretty and shade the tomatoes roots too. :) Final tip - when you water don't wet the plant if you can help it - it can contribute to powdery mildew.
