Subject: Poor Colleen

I had to run out the door to pick her up from school. Her glucose test was 589 with ketones (acetone in the urine) over 2000. She was begging to stay at school, but I'll need to be checking frequently. I'm guessing her fast acting insulin went bad. Anyway, we stopped at the drugstore on the way home to get new vials and picked up some dandy consolation prizes. Jess has a stuffed boxer and a lawn fishing game. Keenie picked a spitting snake and a jungle safari kit complete with compass, canteen, magnifying glass - the works. I have on my hiking boots, floppy canvas hat and khaki shorts. Off to discover what lurks in the depths of the back yard. After that we're roller blading, hula hooping, and pogo sticking. Wish me luck!
