Subject: Do you think you'll ever. . .

I'm just wondering if anybody has ever had, or thinks they ever will have, another TV show that they were as "involved" with as they were (and some of us still are) with XF?
A show you not only make a point of watching and/or taping when a new ep comes on (most of us will do that for any show we like) but one which you make a point of watching even if the ep is a rerun; a show you visit message boards to "talk" about; a show you read/write fanfic for; a show you memorize the names of all the eps for; a show you build an entire videotape library of. . .in other words, a show you're totally *obsessed* by.
I don't know if I ever will or not. Prior to XF, my all-time favorite show was "Remington Steele". The technology simply was available for me to become as involved with "RS" as I later became with "XF". . .no internet and, although I believe VCRs were coming onto the market right around the time "RS" debuted, I didn't own one 'til much later. I did my best never to miss an ep and read everything about the show I could find in magazines, but it wasn't the same. There have also been a couple of shortlived shows I've thought were *really* good, but they didn't last long enough to grab hold of my imagination the way "XF" did.
As for whether another show ever will ever involve me in quite the same way. . .obviously, no one knows what will be produced in years to come, but I kind of doubt it. One of the hallmarks of every show that's ever inspired truly rabid devotion on my part has been that it has featured only two main characters -- one man and one woman, with some sort of UST or romantic involvement between the two of them. TV producers seem to be getting away from that formula and more into ensemble casts.
