"Mayor's office." The efficient voice of IOT answers the phone in a crisp manner. Kande can almost hear the starchy creases in his/her kilt.

"I'd like to speak with the mayor, please. This is kande."

"One moment." A Bay City Rollers tune blasts in kande's ear as IOT puts her on hold. Kande shudders and grits her teeth as she waits for the mayor.

"Mayor," Kenamom barks into the phone.

"Mayor! Kande here!" Kande tries to sound chipper.

"Yes? What can I do for you?" The mayor smirks to herself, certain this call is to whine about her sending IG over to the klub to read fanfic.

"I just wanted to thank you for sending Islandgirl over."

"Excuse me?"

"She just finished reading ten of her stories. Fascinating plots, excellent character development, and she knows how to read them in such a way that demands your attention. I'm thinking of making this a regular thing here at the klub."

Kenamom is speechless. Alas, not for long. "Uh...well...you're welcome. I knew she would be a big hit."

"Thanks again. Bye!" Kande hangs up the phone before she bursts into laughter. Two can play at this game, she thinks to herself. She looks over at the bound and gagged IG, wondering how long she should wait before letting her go.

Meanwhile, DBTL has just delivered a letter marked "Eyes Only" to Rabid. Rabid slams the library door on DBTL's hand, which was discreetly being held out for a tip. She walks away, ignoring the yells and screams. "Wonder who this is from...?" she mutters.
