Not even bothering to get up to speed on the story to date, kande pours herself a diet root beer and sits at the counter. She opens the latest issue of the Noromo Gazette, and is pleased at the latest opinion polls. "What a doofus," kande says to herself. "Of course he's not popular! He has no lips!"

Just then, Bubba walks into the bar to begin his 14 hour shift. Assuming kande is once again talking about him, he scowls and makes a move toward the cat.

"BUBBA!" kande shrieks. "Stay away from the cat! And wash these glasses! I can't believe you went to bed last night before finishing your work." Kande glares at her employee, then goes back to the paper. "Haha! Get Fuzzy always cracks me up!"

Bubba puts on his "kiss the cook" apron and begins washing the glasses. When kande isn't looking, he spits into the dishwasher, then chuckles.

Suddenly, the mayor bursts into the klub. "Kande!!! Have you ordered your sister's birthday present yet?" She has her fine book out and is ready to write up a big one. Already, she is imagining the plants she'll put around the indoor-outdoor pool she'll have built with the money.

"Of course! It should be arriving any day now. Then, of course, I have to wrap it up good before giving it to her. I think she'll like it."

Disappointed, the mayor is nevertheless curious. "Sooo...what did you get her?"

Kande looks around before answering. "I got her a..."

Before kande can finish, a brick comes flying through the window with a note attached.
