The Mayor turns to see Stardoe filling the doorway of her office, twisting her Sheriff's hat between her fingers and wearing a nervous grin.

"Not now, Sheriff!" Kenamom snarls at her as she follows her phoneline to where it's plugged into the wall. At least, where it should be plugged. She holds up the severed line for Stardoe's perusal and nods grimly. "Just as I thought!"

"But this could be really important," Stardoe attempts again, barely glancing at the severed line.

"What could possibly be more important than me being able to call the psychic hotline?" The Mayor sputters at Stardoe, finally looking the Sheriff straight in the eyes.

Stardoe leans over and whispers into the Mayor's ear. The Mayor's eyes widen. "That might qualify," she whimpers in a subdued tone.
