It isn't the "purient interests" failing to be satisfied that drove me away. It's the total lack of coherent storytelling. Now...maybe you are correct and the storylines have improved now that MULDER...the main character of the show...the man WITH the X-Files mission of searching for "THE TRUTH" that was "OUT THERE"...is no longer around. But, what would be the POINT of that!

Now, we have two NEW characters to invest our interest in...if indeed we were interested. I watched the X-Files from the very first show up until the Season Nine Premiere. Every DAMNED episode...when they aired not in reruns...I loved the show(the style, the spookiness, and Mulder and Scully...not for UST but for themselves). And, even if I hate myself for doing it, I will watch the LAST episode, too.

But you know what? I will lay you a serious wager...that CC has no earthly idea how to end this show. No big PLAN to unveil. No final jaw-dropping save that makes it all worthwhile. There isn't any TRUTH but the bitterest one...CC over reached his capabilities right around S6.

He can't develop characters(he hasn't done so in 8 years, with loads of opportunity). And he hasn't EVER delivered a fully developed storyline. Think of all the two part episodes where eppy one was fantastic and eppy two...died with a whimper leaving us nowhere! Two Fathers anyone? Is that the point of the X-Files? I think so! CC is telling us there are no answers. Okay, clever enough...but SO WHAT? I got the message in Season FIVE! Why should I line CC's pockets just to hear him keep saying the same thing over and over again? I already know the "TRUTH" and frankly...I'm bored with it!

I said when I left...the X-Files would be cancelled. THE AX fell. Sorry! But it didn't take a lot of foresight to predict that outcome. I was the ONLY one of my circle of converts (people I personally BROUGHT to the X-Files...20 individuals total during Season 4) who was still watching this lame show limp around LAST year.

I know you all still love it and that's fine...I even admire your loyalty or doggedness...but you need to know that it has nothing left to give most people. That's WHY the X-Files was put down...because CC and Company had failed repeatedly to deliver the goods(not SEX but storyline, character development, plot direction and most of all entertainment value).

Rabid/Raeann
who again...knows you all are loyalists...but who wishes CC had a little more Joss in him.
