I must say here that I am really enjoying this dialogue. I love your statement "Once you got the big picture what do you do with it?". I haven't the faintest idea. I seem to remember someone bringing that issue up and suggesting that Mankind would perish at that precise moment because there would be nothing left for the mind to pursue. I don't think I can buy into that scenario but I do see why they might come to that conclusion.

Wow! This sort of has me stymied. I'm laughing to myself because of your statement about "effort... time... and is it worth it?" Yes, its worth it because it is fun. Other than having fun with it, there is not much redeamable value in knowing how Life emerged, what drives social movements, how the invention of zero plays into our concepts, etc. etc. It is just for enjoyment. The only value I have noticed is that I occasionally hear someone telling a real whopper of a lie and can challenge them with my armament of useless information. If there is anything deeper as to why I try to look at the big picture, it would be that I hope to have as clear an understanding of Life as possible before my death. It also works to validate my own conception that there is no seperation between anything (The old All is One concept).

I accept the fact that I will never have The Answer. I beleive that Life is all about the journey. I do want to make a good contribution to the world rather than being a problem for it. After forty three years of living I have come to the following conclusions (Any of which I will change if the evidence points otherwise)...

There is no seperation.

Zero does not exist except as a reference.

Entropy drives all mass & energy.

There is no magic.

If there is a God force, It is what we live in and not a mysterious being.

Humans are not at the top of the evolutionary ladder, micro organisms are.

Humans are driven by their libidos.

Broccoli sucks.

Everything I say could be wrong.
