Subject: It's just a thought, but I wonder if Murtagh loving Ellen gave him a shield against a permanent attachment to another woman. Being unmarried would be unusual. John used his love of Jamie to keep Percy at arm's length, giving him a way to keep himself from committing to that relationship - I wonder if Percy would have become such a git if he had.
In reply to: Kathy in PA 's message, "I agree. He wasn’t romantic except for unrequited love of Ellen. But you couldn’t ask for a better person to have your back. The show’s line of him and Jocasta as lovers was way off for me. But I understand there’s not time to develop his character like in the books so they had to go for physical attraction, which Duncan has in spades." on Wed, February 14 2024, 11:11:00
