Russ is making some good points...

I don't think that stretching should really be an issue, couldn't Delrin support the force of it's own weight as it moves forward? (However it is also going to have the force of the striker moving as well, so that may add weight to the connecting pin, and maybe cause such a problem?)

And gas efficiency may suffer, a good test to see if the air is in fact blowing by the bolt would be to remove the upper chamber rear plug and watch for gas flowing out the back (if so you'd have a bad seal when the valve is opened)
