for a large area over 3 million in seattle alone the air quality due to the rain is usually quite good compared to other metropolitan areas .
Something heartwarming to hear about my fellow washingtonians .Every one has pitched in and tried to help others one man put up 20 families in a motel until the power came back on . Another womans hubby was in iraq . she was cold with children plus a new born . People pitched in and did everything for her money food shelter etc. others have delivered wood, blankets foods water etc.as far as i know Fema was not called in as it would be in other areas even though many houses are not liveable due to falling trees etc. I am so glad people are helping others. One clerk at a grocery that was open asked if we had power we said no and she invited us to dinner at her home . we tried to graciously thank her for her kindness but told her I had stew going on the wood stove at home . The only place I have heard of any pigheadedness was in bellvue the wealthy bedroom community by microsoft . they were fist fighting over gas and running thier cars on sidewalks etc to get at the only gas station open in that area.
