I agree with alot of your comments, but Arriva will never run buses like trent do.

For a start Trent is focussed on a small area, Derby/Nottingham mainly. It is also one of the leading companies in the UK, whereas customer satisfaction and fleet age are concerned.

I cant see Arriva Derby ever matching this. It is part of a large corporate company, controlled from another city. Profit is paramount to them. Putting new buses onto routes will not save them enough money to justify it. An old bus will produce the same amount of income as a newer one (or as near as).

Basically they cannot afford to replace all step entrance buses with nice shiny low floor ones. If they did do this in Derby, another Arrriva depot/area would miss out.

There are quite a few Trent buses on the road that are over 5 years old too.
