I recognize that I'm not the same person I was, say, 35 years ago. This involves a lot more than just getting older. My personality has changed over time. In this White Hot Way, these changes have accelerated as I discover more pieces of me that have been hidden from consciousness and am able to integrate them into the whole person I am becomming. Some of these pieces are not very attractive but they are nonetheless part of me and I have to embrace them and integrate them into the whole. In the meantime I am aware of a thread of continuous memory that makes me realize that I have not really become a different person but rather I have received the gift of being able to change and grow, realizing more of who I am. What that is ultimately, I have no clue. I can't answer the the question "Who Are We?" because I seem to be always "becomimg" and I don't know where that will take me. What difference would it make if I did know? It would not change my present experience, I would not feel different in this moment. My flighty little mind would still be busy trying to fiure out something else, so what good is it to know? Beats me, so I am content to rest in not knowing.
