i see your points and they are well taken. this herbert created universe is filled with exploited humans. slavery is a way of life throughout the imperium. the faufreluches is a rigid, caste like system.it seems that power has totally corrupted the entire human race, at least the upper classes. even in the prequals this degredation is ever present. to me , this is the one thing that i wish herbert had done differently. in order for humanity to have progressed to the dune levels of sophisticated technologies,it is almost certain that we would have to overcome such destructive behaviors, if we were to survive. the battles against the machines would almost require the strength of humanity entire. there is no place in a successful future for such exploitations.
