What do you call a short period of time? I believe Mr. Venning stated last night that he has been the City Manager for 7 years. How long has Councilwoman Stewart been a Newburgh City resident? Longer than that? As you recall she led the group from her street trying to get services from the city. She dealt with him on that. She has been a great advocate for the residents of the Kenney Apartments and dealt with him on that, She has had plenty of time and experience to make an informed decision that she didn’t like his management style. Mr. Venning has done some great things for the city. He is always the smartest person in the room. None of that means that you can’t dislike his lack of transparency, unwillingness to delegate, etc. This isn’t about Mr. Venning though. He will soon be history as far as the City of Newburgh is concerned. He will no doubt land on his feet, and I wish him well.
