I hear what you’re saying, and I agree that Mr. Venning wasn’t perfect,no administrator is,but from my perspective as a longtime resident and taxpayer, his financial management put the city on much stronger footing than where it was when he arrived. That matters to me.

As for Councilwoman Stewart, I’m not questioning her right to serve. I’m speaking to what I’ve personally observed since January: a pattern of confrontational exchanges, a lack of professionalism in meetings, and a tendency toward performative moments rather than collaborative problem‑solving. That’s my concern.

Everyone is entitled to their own view, but mine is based on what I’ve watched play out publicly over the past few months. I want leadership that elevates the conversation, not escalates it.
