It's understandable that you would be a bit sad about it... But the fact that it made you feel bad doesn't mean it was wrong. Parents know their own kids best and what they need. It's fine that you didn't spank him. But If that Dad is very strict he did his job by enforcing the rules of their house. I've been spanked in similar situations and spanked my own kids in similar situations.
