Thank you for such a wonderfully supportive and lengthy response, Kristina. It is so good that you started this forum for Christians to talk about discipline. I can see that we have very similar attitudes to it and the obligation to make spanking a basis for it.

I think you are so right when you talk about maintenance spankings teaching character building and self discipline. My girls are expected to take their spankings stoically and with forbearance. In other words, no moving and the minimum amount of sound. Mainenance spankings train them to do this. Both girls can now take their spankings well when they are given them, like you, after church on Sunday. I also think that maintenance spankings are right for my girls but accept that this may not be the case with other families.

My girls, too, have been taught to ask for a spanking and my elder girl can suggest how she should be spanked in terms of implement, position and how many swats etc. We discuss fully beforehand how difficult it is to both give and take a spanking. There is reassurance that it is done with love and plenty of hugs and praise afterwards. I will take that phrase on board that 'a warm bottom means a warm heart' and it will now become part of our spanking routine. Thank you!

I am very happy to talk about church spankings to you, Kristina!
Maybe ask any questions you have in the thread devoted to discipline in church. And please see my Bible phrases that I have posted in that thread. God bless you for your response and setting up this forum, Kristina. It helps all of us to swap experiences.
