~*~*This was perhaps the first time that you could clearly read emotions in the faces of the Guardians. They all shared a combination of confusion, fright, and outright panic. You quickly jumped out of the way, as what was apparently the leader of the human group, moved forward. He was massive, towering over the Guardians and all of the other people. As you moved back into your place, you watched as he approached the quartet with a scroll in his hands. It was Yumi who approached and attempted to speak to him- in what sounded to you like pure Ahr’Teyan words. Your guardian was kind enough to translate them in your mind.*~*~

Yumi- …Where are our families? Is this not where our home was located?

~*~*You saw a brief flash in your mind. The massive human city, in a world that looked somewhat like your own- flash to a pure white landscape with silver spires on the horizon, populated by people with silvery eyes—laughing, playing, and building homes in the spires. That was all gone now.*~*~

Human- Your kind has not existed here for eons. Now, which of you is the ‘Perfect Child’ that they spoke of?

~*~*There was confusion, before Treyvan slowly rose his hand.*~*~

Treyvan- That would be me, I think…

~*~*The human leader slowly unrolled the scroll, and began to read from it.*~*~

Human- By order of the alliance of human worlds, you are hereby ordered to fulfil your sacred duty and open this gate to all human kind.

~*~*He was visibly angered when Treyvan just stood there.*~*~

Human- Well, what are you waiting for? You have your orders, so get to it!

Treyvan- I can not… Verdandi spoke to us, She has told us not to let the Gate be opened. We promised her…

Human- You are in the human worlds now. And as such, you are to follow our rules. Failure to comply will mean only suffering for you and your people.

Yumi- …What people?

~*~*A sudden slap across her face sent her backwards, where Treyvan stood before her protectively. Kioku stared at the man for some time, in silence.*~*~

Kioku- You killed them, didn’t you? Our families and friends. Why?! What reason could you possibly have for killing them?!

Human- They were interfering with our orders to colonize and civilize this world, and thus were eliminated. Knowledge of you four turned up in their writings. You are now obligated to serve us- we are your masters now.

~*~*Khrys was visibly ticked off by that.*~*~

Khrys- We are NOT your servants! We have nothing for you! If you treated our people in such a manor, you will NOT be treating the LAST of us like this now! You have no claim over us!

~*~*As Treyvan helped Yumi up, Khrys was sent to the ground by a powerful punch. He went on speaking none the less.*~*~

Khrys- This world was colonized, by MY people! You had no right to take it away from them! We had our OWN civilization! We had our OWN laws and penalties!

Human- No, you did not. You had a weak system in which the weak were above the powerful. That abomination of a civilization would have fallen sooner or later anyway.

Kioku- We were created as the Guardians here- we would not have been able to fall…

Human- If you will not serve, then you will die. Guards, spare only the ‘Perfect Child.’

~*~*And then, they began their escape. Khrys easily cleared out a section of the crowd with an energy blast, as the four took off as fast as they could. You were following them only because the memory was moving you along with them- Treyvan was pulling Yumi along behind him, while Khrys and Kioku raced after them. The majority of the humans that had been present followed after them, taking little time to catch up. A rope shot out of the group, and twisted around Khrys’ legs- causing him to trip. There were people on top of him not a heart beat later, but you were unable to see what happened to him aside from the fast that you heard one of his screams come to a very abrupt end. Kioku would have fallen then, too- as she turned to go back for her beloved. The hand of Yumi was all that pulled her back into reality, and got her running again.*~*~

~*~*It was not long after that you witnessed the second fatality. While the three of them were running, a single human managed to catch up with them as they pulled away from the group. A scream and a jerk alerted them to the threat, as Yumi fell- two throwing stars embedded in her eye sockets. Before Treyvan could turn to help her, blades found her throat and heart with deadly precision. One swift hit to the human, and the struggle was over. Dropping to his knees quickly, Treyvan removed all of the blades from her body as she choked trying to take a breath. You were not sure how she was still alive. It was Kioku that pulled Treyvan away (despite his best efforts to stay) as the rest of the humans caught up. The last that you saw of Yumi was a large axe coming down on her head.*~*~

~*~*The memory switched to the two of them sitting in darkness somewhere, both with their heads in their arms. Both of them had lost their lifebonded in less than an hour, and neither of them really knew what was going on. You had never seen Treyvan cry before. The memory began to progress quickly, as you watched Yumi physically waste away. Treyvan has always said that she had gotten sick and refused to cure herself- but this vision was progressing years at a time. She never once tried to help herself. She was dead in only a short amount of time, leaving Treyvan alone. You had noticed that he too had began to waste away- but for some reason, he saved himself. You did not know why.*~*~

~*~*your vision suddenly went white, and you found yourself in an empty space. Your guardian spoke.*~*~

This is the space between memories. Should you choose to exit, this is the time to do it. Another memory will come up shortly. Word from the outside is that the diversion is working…. The Spirits are coming here.
