Many years ago when I was a very young teller in a bank and the Big Guy was a brand new policeman.....he used to come by and take me to lunch. He would have been up all night, working the "graveyard" shift and stayed up so he could see me for lunch before he headed home and to bed.
One of the places we liked to go had good plain solid food and one of their specialties was Joe's Special. A good quality ground beef (mince?) scrambled with eggs, fresh spinach and lots of garlic. It was served with fried potatoes, toast and their home made jam....a skinny, desperately tired young policeman went home with a stomach full of food and slept through the day.
