The only difference is it REALLY produces a lot of smoke, I love the smell of lavender too but I find that while the right amount can sooth too much of it and it can actually be stimulating and can cause headaches. Everyone has their own threshold of how much they can use before it does that, I seem to have a relatively low one. ;-)

For headaches I make a tea from Lavender leaves (1 part) and Lemon Balm (2 parts) I get migraines that are sometimes accompanied by nausea and the lavender is really good for that. Or if I just can�t wait around for the tea I put 5 drops on a sugar cube and be done with it. ;-)
