I have 2 sons who have both had multiple surgeries. They are completely different in their response to anesthesia. For example, both boys have had their tonsils out (same surgeon/hospital/length of surger time, etc. My oldest son was asking for ice cream almost as soon as he was wheeled into recovery and he wanted a hamburger for dinner that same night. My younger son, a totally different "ball of wax" as they say. He became hyper sensitive to all touch, lights and temperatures for almost 2 full weeks. I spoke with our surgeon and pediatrician (I was pretty freaked out) and they referred me to our anasthesiologist - who actually gave me quite a bit of good information and of course from there I did a lot of internet and medical journal research. The whole point to this, is call your anasthesiologist if you continue to have problems, and expect answers! There is information out there about all of the different side effects and also all of the clinical studies that have been done and their results - all anasthesia are not created equal (as we know with our boxer mutts and ACE)...
