It sounds like a risotto type dish - is that the concept? Andrew will love it and that will be his lunch for tomorrow too. :) What is andouille BTW? That one has me completely stumped!

The rice is just a flavoured rice right. I cook my own in the microwave and normally add seasoning to the cooking water - that would do it right? (I do have saffron in the cupboard - jealously hording it but will use it if you think it's worth the taste difference).

What vegies constitute "gumbo". Celery, onion? I don't think I can get okra here at this time of year - maybe courgetes (zuchinni) - what else?

Is the V8 a vegetable juice? That's what it is down here. I don't want to go to the supermarket for it especially (besides it's horribly over priced) but I could do my own - I have a juicer and would like to experiment a little with it.

LOL - I DO know what a chicken is at least!!! Do have french bread in the pantry AND can throw a salad together. *giggle*

And hmmmmmmm M.C ~ did you just let a little something out of the bag? ;-) hehehehehehehehe...... careful you - I have tomatoes too!!!!!
