...or is it tubors? The sort of plant that will reproduce off a little bit of the root system. We have them right down the back of out garden Barbara and they won't ever go away without fanatical dillegence I don't think. I got rid of most of the green leafed ones and selected for the really dark, almost black, leafed variety we have down there because I was after a certain effect for a while (black and orange in that corner - very ... ummm who's the artist I'm thinking of? ...anyone?). I don't know about worms or slugs though - there are other things that come in in that corner and provide cover so maybe I've never noticed. Plus - they are just so prolific. There is a saying that Auckland (where I live) is the weed capital of the world, LOL - maybe it's true. ;)
