In the Seattle area, housing prices vary widely depending on where you are. If you are talking in the fairly nice, close in neighborhood in Seattle, you would be looking at between $300,000 - 350,000. But in the south and north suburbs you would be looking at about $100,000 less.
It all has to do with snob appeal and traffic. There is tremendous snob appeal with a Seattle address and traffic is horrible everywhere, so people want to live close to where they spend most of their time.
