...for the mysterious person on the other end of the phone to pick up, KS has taken up her sister's bet to ride in the Brrr race.

"It's $100 in I win, right?" KS wants the agreement in writing.

"Right," Kande agrees, her pen sputtering on the paper she's signing since she's shivering. "And $100 if I win."

KS rubs her hands in their fur-lined gloves. "May the best woman win!" She flies out the door on her bike. "Which will be me, of course!" She hollers out behind her while Kande is still attempting to get her leg to stop shaking enough to throw it over her bike. Finally, she gets the bike scooted towards the bar and Bubba lifts her leg and puts her foot on the pedal. Kande looks at him hopefully and giving a small scowl, he gives her a shove towards the doors.

"You could have opened the door for me," Kande snarls back at him as the door slams hard into her right cheekbone. She peers through a blinding blizzard. "Now, where is the starting point?"

Meanwhile, KS has already finished the race and decided she would stop in at CW's for some hot chocolate. "Woo hoo! Thank goodness for the battery-operated heating element in these long underwear!" she says cheerily to herself as she knocks on CW's door. "That's strange," she mutters, pushing the already slightly open door with a fingertip.

Peering behind the door, she thinks she hears a small sound in the direction of the basement. Tiptoeing through the kitchen, she peeks down the stairs to see CW in whispered conversation with somebody. "Oh crap, I've got to get out of here!" KS thinks to herself, right before she collides with an enormous hairy body.

Back at the Klub, the Mayor and the remaining loyal Brrr devotees are peering through the snow for the contestants. "Where's Kande?" Stardoe asks, coming up from behind the Mayor. Stardoe has as an animal perched on her shoulder, nibbling at her ear. It looks like a mix between a cockatiel, a budgie, and a lizard.

"I think that block of ice in front of the Klub is her," the Mayor says nervously. "What's that thing on your shoulder?" She shudders as the animal takes a nibble out of Stardoe's earlobe.

Stardoe beams at her. "Isn't it cute? My hubbie gave it to me as an early birthday present."

Bubba just shakes his head. He recognizes the animal as one that came from his planet. Some of his relatives must be visiting over in Noromoville. Stardoe will be lucky if she has an ear left by the time the thing is through with her. He looks outside at the vaguely human-looking block of ice. Same as last year, he thinks to himself as he goes to the kitchen to get the tool they use to carmelize the creme brulee'.
