JD looks up from his paper. The maid races by, hands flapping about in the air, apron waving in the breeze.

"When did we get a maid?" he asks his adorable squeeze KS.

"Oh, I picked her up somewhere," KS remarks in an offhand manner that signifies to her significant other that the subject is closed.

"Ah," JD nods, taking the hint. He switches to a seductive purr. "So, tell me, sweetie, what would you like for your birthday?"

"More loot than that fair weather Rabid," KS snarls. "Imagine her neglecting our needs for months and then just showing up during present giving season."

"Well...honey...you can expect sensitivity from someone named RABID?"

"True...and you know what my sources tell me?" KS doesn't wait for him to show interest before rushing on with her news. "It's not even her REAL name."

"Really? Why would anyone call themselves Rabid if that wasn't their real name?"

"Librarians," KS sniffs. "Don't get me started. They have all sorts of radical ideas. I tell you JD, they mean to undermine this great country of ours...free internet access for all...I ask you, what kind of loony idea is that? If everyone had access to the internet...then...well...they would probably create imaginary communities and act out their every fantasy and the free market economy would collapse due to lack of interest."

"Sounds dire," JD mutters as he wisely returns his attention to his newspaper.

The maid gallops through the room again, waving and flapping. A buzzing greenish swarm of something follows her into the kitchen.
