"Ahem! I am about to give my acceptance speech!" Kande purrs into the microphone. She looks expectantly at the audience, all of whom completely ignore her and fall upon the buffet of poptarts like starving people.

*Ping! Sccccrrrreeeeee!* Kande grabs the mike and moves it closer to her mouth, causing everyone to drop their poptarts and grab their ears.

"Damn," KM says softly, looking around to see if anyone's watching her brush the lint off her poptart and then put it in her mouth.

"I SAID I'M GIVING MY ACCEPTANCE SPEECH!" Kande screams into the microphone, glaring at the milling crowd.

"C'mon everyone," KS sighs and gestures to her friends. "She'll keep on like this until we put on some semblance of pretending to listen. Just follow my lead." KS makes eye contact with Kande, nodding as if Kande has just said something completely fascinating. The others ape her gestures, which seems to calm Kande. Kande whips out a piece of paper and puts on her half-glasses, holding the paper at arm's length.

"Sniveling idiots, groveling aliens, and deluded Shippers," Kande begins, beaming at the crowd and then remembering herself and sneering, "It was a foregone conclusion that I would win this puny piece of tin. To show my waning appreciation, I will use it as a spitoon. I..."

"Woo hoo! Great speech! You sure showed us!" KS stands up and begins applauding. Everyone follows her lead. Kande stands at the podium with her mouth open, then holds up her winning cup and shakes it over her head.

"To the poptarts!" yells KM, standing on a table and stepping over people to return to the buffet.
