Going back and reading your post again. But it shouldn't stretch, b/c there should be no force holding the bolt still while the pin trys to move...which would maybe make it stretch. But it just sits there...if it is stretching it would have to mean that the bolt is sticking, b/c there is supposed to be very little friction between the bolt and wall. So there should be nothing holding the bolt still allowing it to get stretched.
