I am happy they took them down. I have been asking the board for years to take them down. I have worked with Neighborhood Watch and I have lived here 10 years. There have been fights at the courts that involved a kid going to the car and getting a loaded gun. The police arrested him. There have been drug deals along with my husband called names along with other neighbors when walking by. I hate my stepson can not use them, but if it keeps the kids who are causing the problems away I am glad they are down. When we begged them to take down before and they did the issues resolved!!! I feel like families can go to the playground and be safe. Call the police department and ask for the record with the calls from over the past 5 years. I am happy this board cares about our neighborhood. This is not an over night decision. Look at the facts. I have seen with my own eyes several times kids from Hickory Hills walk to the courts and use them. When asking kids from our neighborhood they will tell you alot of people do not live here that use the courts.
